Downloads & the download manager

Every user has a personal Downloads folder that is created automatically on first open. Downloads run server-side as system jobs — you can close the browser, the download continues.

Starting a download

1. 1In the Files app: click Download from URL …
2. 2Paste the link — the download starts as a job in the Job Center.
3. 3Progress, pause and cancel live in the Job Center (bell icon in the shell).
4. 4Finished files land automatically in your personal Downloads folder.

For developers

The SDK offers the same feature for apps: ora.downloads — including SSRF protection; loopback addresses are blocked. Downloads appear automatically in the user's Job Center.
