Setting up ORA

Enable the local AI assistant, pick a model and make your first request.

ORA is the AI assistant of rumahl OS. By default it runs entirely locally on your hardware — your prompts never leave your device.

Enabling ORA

  1. 1Open the ORA app from the launcher (or the Assist panel in the dashboard).
  2. 2Enable the assistant in the ORA settings.
  3. 3Pick a local model matching your RAM: smaller models run fast on 4 GB, larger ones on 8 GB+.
  4. 4Test your first prompt — e.g. “What is today's energy usage?”

Allowing ORA to act (optional)

ORA can not only answer, but also act: suggest automations, analyse logs, control devices. Any action that needs access to files, cameras or energy data asks for permission like any other app.

ORA has no special powers: any action that needs access to files, cameras or energy data asks for permission like any other app.
