Troubleshooting

Your device is unreachable

Network checks, IP issues and recovery — step by step to a solution.

The most common support issue: the dashboard is no longer reachable. It is usually the network, rarely the system. Go through the steps in order.

Check the basics

  1. 1Check the power supply and the status LED of the device — is it lit?
  2. 2Ping test from your PC: ping 192.168.1.50 (your device IP) — replies?
  3. 3No reply? Check whether the device got a new IP from the router (router UI → connected devices).

Dashboard and system

  1. 1Reachable, but no dashboard? Check the port: nc -zv 192.168.1.50 8126.
  2. 2System hung? Briefly disconnect power and restart — rumahl boots cleanly, data stays intact.
  3. 3Afterwards: open the dashboard and check the security monitor for anything unusual.

Avoiding the problem permanently

  • DHCP reservation in the router: a fixed IP prevents the address changing after a reboot.
  • Network monitoring: rumahl shows connected devices automatically in the dashboard.
  • Note your device's MAC address — it helps when searching the router logs.

A DHCP reservation in the router (fixed IP) prevents the IP from changing after a reboot.
